46th Exhibition of Inventions: record number of inventors ans increased attendance

The 46th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva ended on Sunday night, to the general satisfaction of exhibitors and organisers alike. This year’s show saw a record 822 Exhibitors from 40 countries. Covering nearly 9,000 square metres, the 31050 visitors, a figure roughly the same as last year, roamed Palexpo’s Hall 7 for five days. The exhibitors were pleased with the contacts made and business done.

With 822 exhibitors (50 more than in 2017) and a thousand inventions on display, the International Exhibition in Geneva confirmed its position as the most important specialist event of its kind in the world. A great many exhibitors reported they had done excellent business and forged very useful contacts during the show. This showcase event attracts investors and companies from around the world. Harnessing its reputation for credibility and professionalism, this year’s show was marked by a very high proportion of inventions in health, medicine, the environment and security. In fact, it was a medical invention that won the Exhibition’s Grand Prix.

Jean-Luc Vincent, Founding President of the Exhibition, was delighted: “After 2017 – a transition year that saw the show organised by Palexpo for the first time – the Exhibition has taken on a new dimension while retaining its underlying philosophy. The general level of innovations on display rises every year.”
Palexpo General Manager Claude Membrez was pleased with the success of this year’s show: “We welcome the never-ending challenge we face every year to find the best inventors from around the globe. This year’s record number of inventors encourages us to pursue our efforts to continually grow and enhance the reputation of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.”

Gaëlle Grosjean, Director of the Exhibition for the second time, said: “It was an incredibly intensive five days, but I am delighted with the results, as are the exhibitors and the many visitors who flocked to Palexpo.”

The next show will be held from 10 to 14th of April 2019.
